Privacy policy

The short version: we keep score, not dossiers. Last updated July 8, 2026.

What we collect

TwoDown collects what the product needs to work, and not more: your phone number (it's how you sign in — no passwords), your name, and the rounds you play — scores, games, claims, and settlements your group records. Guests appear by the name their organizer typed until they claim their record.

Contact matching — how it actually works

If you choose to find friends from your contacts, the app reads phone numbers and names on your device. Names never leave your phone. Numbers are normalized on-device and uploaded once, where each is hashed with a secret key, matched against members in memory, and discarded. We store no contact graph, no "people you know" table, and no numbers from anyone's address book — our logs record only counts.

You can opt out of being found this way: Profile → Privacy → "Discoverable by phone number." Declining contacts access entirely is fine too — search by name still works.

Text messages (sign-in codes)

TwoDown texts you one-time passcodes to sign in, only when you request them. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies with how often you sign in. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of TwoDown texts, or HELP for help.

No ads, no tracking

We run no ads, sell no data, and use no data brokers. Nothing in the app or on this site tracks you across other apps or websites. This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, anonymous page counts, which is why there's no consent banner to click.

Money

TwoDown never holds, transfers, or processes money. Settling up produces deep links into Venmo or Cash App; what happens there is between you, your group, and those services. We store the scorekeeping ledger — who's up and who's down — because that's the product.

Who we share with

Service providers that run the product, under contract and only for that purpose: our hosting provider (Hetzner), our SMS provider (Twilio — your number, to deliver your sign-in code), and our error monitoring (Sentry, configured to scrub personal data). No one else, unless the law genuinely requires it.

Deleting your data

Email support@twodown.golf and we'll delete your account and its data. In-app account deletion and full data export ship with the public App Store release. Note that rounds are group records — your scores in a crew's finalized round history are anonymized rather than rewritten, so the group's books still balance.

Changes + contact

If this policy changes materially, we'll say so in the app and here. Questions: support@twodown.golf.
